Instructions for Changing Your Dial-up Number and Username

1. Click on the Dial-up Locations link to find your new number
2. Once you have the new number, follow the instructions below to change the number according to your current operating system.
3. Please call your local telephone service provider to confirm if this dial up number is a local call for you. You may also confirm that the call is local by dialing the 7 digit number from your home phone. If you hear a fax/modem-like sound, this usually indicates a successful connection and that the call is local.
4. Click on the Change dial-up Username link to change your username
5. Download and install the PowerUp Accelerator^¹
6. Click on Create A Shortcut On The Desktop To The Dial-Up Connection

Windows 95/98 | Windows ME | Windows 2000 | Windows XP

Windows 95/98

1. Double-click 'My Computer'
2. Double-click 'Dial Up Networking'
3. Right-click your connection icon (the connection name may be different for each computer)
4. Click Properties
5. Remove the phone number located on the 'General' tab
6. Type in the new dial up number
7. Click 'OK'
8. You are done!

Windows ME

1. Click 'Start'
2. Go to 'Settings'
3. Click 'Dial Up Networking'
4. Right-click your connection icon (the connection name may be different for each computer)
5. Click Properties
6. Remove the phone number located on the 'General' tab
7. Type in the new dial up number
8. Click 'OK'
9. You are done!

Windows 2000

1. Click 'Start'
2. Go to 'Settings'
3. Click 'Control Panel'
4. Double-click 'Dial Up Networking' OR 'Network and Dialup'
5. Right-click your connection icon (the connection name may be different for each computer)
6. Click Properties
7. Remove the phone number located on the 'General' tab
8. Type in the new dial up number
9. Click 'OK'
10. You are done!

Windows XP

1. Click 'Start'
2. Go to 'Settings'
3. Click 'Control Panel'
4. On left-hand side of page, click 'Switch to Classic View
5. Double-click 'Network Connections'
6. Right-click your connection icon (the connection name may be different for each computer)
7. Click Properties
8. Remove the phone number located on the 'General' tab
9. Type in the new dial up number
10. Click 'OK'
11. You are done!
