
Instructions for Changing Your Dial-up Number and Username
- Click on the Dial-up Locations link to find your new number
- Once you have the new number, follow the instructions below to change the number according to your current operating system.
- Please call your local telephone service provider to confirm if this dial up number is a local call for you. You may also confirm that the call is local by dialing the 7 digit number from your home phone. If you hear a fax/modem-like sound, this usually indicates a successful connection and that the call is local.
- Click on the Change dial-up Username link to change your username
- Download and install the PowerUp Accelerator¹
- Click on Create A Shortcut On The Desktop To The Dial-Up Connection

Windows 95/98 | Windows ME | Windows 2000 | Windows XP
Windows 95/98
- Double-click 'My Computer'
- Double-click 'Dial Up Networking'
- Right-click your connection icon (the connection name may be different for each computer)
- Click Properties
- Remove the phone number located on the 'General' tab
- Type in the new dial up number
- Click 'OK'
- You are done!
Windows ME
- Click 'Start'
- Go to 'Settings'
- Click 'Dial Up Networking'
- Right-click your connection icon (the connection name may be different for each computer)
- Click Properties
- Remove the phone number located on the 'General' tab
- Type in the new dial up number
- Click 'OK'
- You are done!
Windows 2000
- Click 'Start'
- Go to 'Settings'
- Click 'Control Panel'
- Double-click 'Dial Up Networking' OR 'Network and Dialup'
- Right-click your connection icon (the connection name may be different for each computer)
- Click Properties
- Remove the phone number located on the 'General' tab
- Type in the new dial up number
- Click 'OK'
- You are done!
Windows XP
- Click 'Start'
- Go to 'Settings'
- Click 'Control Panel'
- On left-hand side of page, click 'Switch to Classic View
- Double-click 'Network Connections'
- Right-click your connection icon (the connection name may be different for each computer)
- Click Properties
- Remove the phone number located on the 'General' tab
- Type in the new dial up number
- Click 'OK'
- You are done!
